In 1988, Autofric took a first step into the manufacturing of machines for wastewater treatment plants

Autofric was founded when Jan Åslund and his partner at the time started using the newly acquired workshop in Råda for welding and simple repairs for local customers. A few years later, Krister Axelsson joined the team. His practical experience in car and motorcycle building would prove to be an important catalyst for Autofric's development. Through his expertise and the team's shared interest in the water and sewage industry, Autofric took a first step into a new business area – manufacturing machines for sewage treatment plants.

1988 marks a significant milestone when the company took on its first production order for sewage treatment plants. The result was successful and paved the way for an increasingly clear and defined direction for Autofric's business. Working closely with the end customer, prototypes were developed that were so successful that they can be considered as the beginning of the business we see today.
