Let's get to know Lars-Eric Byqvist

Hi Lars-Eric! What do you do at Autofric?

“I work as a team leader over the spiral department at Autofric. I make sure that everything runs according to plan and that the products are delivered on time. We produce spirals for both our own and our customers' machines. About 70% of the spirals are delivered to customers in countries such as Australia, the USA and Germany.”

Can you tell us a bit about your journey at Autofric?

“Absolutely! I did my first day at Autofric in 1993 and became a permanent employee in 2001. In the years in between, I did extra work in the evenings and in my free time. When I was offered a permanent position, there were only four of us, so I did a bit of everything, which was great fun! Over time, my main focus became the the spiral production. It came quite naturally as I was there when we developed the first spiral machine.”

What is the most fun thing about working as a team leader?

“I like the challenge that comes with spiral manufacturers being a relatively rare feature in the industry. It's especially fun when a customer has very specific requirements and we manage to achieve them. I also have a great group of staff who make the job fun even if you have a bad day. Then, of course, it's fantastic to be involved in developing our machines and coming up with ideas!”

What do you like to do in your spare time when you are not working?

“Three years ago, I moved back to the place where I grew up - Tyngsjö. A small and cozy place just outside Hagfors. I regularly do some carpentry work on the house there. There is also plenty of room for driving quad bikes and snowmobiles, or simply just hanging out with loved ones. I also have an interest in watching all kinds of motor sports!”
